Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has felicitated former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (GCFR), on the occasion of his 85th birthday, describing him as a respected elder statesman whose contributions to Nigeria’s political and national development remain significant.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Governor Yusuf described General Babangida as a distinguished Nigerian whose years of service to the nation have left a lasting mark on the country’s history and development.
He acknowledged the former Military President’s leadership experience, wisdom and continued interest in the affairs of Nigeria, particularly his contributions to national unity, peace and democratic development.
The Governor said the wisdom and experience of elder statesmen such as General Babangida remain valuable to the younger generation of leaders as Nigeria continues to navigate complex national challenges.
“On behalf of the government and people of Kano State, I warmly congratulate General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida on his 85th birthday.
His long years of service to Nigeria and his wealth of experience as a statesman make him an important voice in our national discourse.
We celebrate him today and pray that Almighty Allah continues to grant him good health, wisdom and many more years in peace and fulfilment,” Governor Yusuf said.
The Governor wished General Babangida and his family continued blessings, good health and happiness, while praying for lasting peace and progress in Nigeria.
