The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has filed a suit at the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking an order to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to relist its governorship candidate for Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, in the list of contestants.
The action followed the omission of Gwarzo’s name from the list of candidates released by INEC, even though the party said its candidate has met all requirements to contest the election.
A chieftain of the NDC Kwankwasiyya, Dr. Yusuf Kofarmata, disclosed the filing of the suit, urging supporters of the party to continue with campaigns and prayers,
Kofarmata said they are hopeful that the court will deliver a judgement that will allow Gwarzo to participate in the governorship race in the state.
