Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has commiserated with Professor Abdullahi Saleh Pakistan, the immediate past Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), over the death of his wife.
Prof. Pakistan also serves as the Kano State Chairman of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS).
In a statement on Sunday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf described the death as a “painful and irreparable loss” not only to Prof. Pakistan and his family but also to the wider Islamic community, friends, and associates.
The Governor said the deceased lived a life of piety, humility, and compassion, noting that her death had created a vacuum that would be deeply felt by those who benefited from her kindness and motherly counsel.
“This moment reminds us of the transient nature of life and the need for steadfast faith in the will of Almighty Allah,” Yusuf said, urging the family to find solace in Islamic teachings on patience and submission to Allah’s decree.
On behalf of the Government and people of Kano State, the Governor prayed to Allah (SWT) to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, envelop her in His mercy, illuminate her grave, and grant her Aljannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed for Allah to grant Prof. Pakistan, his children, and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Pakistan led NAHCON until recently and is a prominent Islamic scholar in Kano.
