A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and 2027 aspirant for Fagge Federal Constituency, Hon. Haruna Kabiru Wakili Fagge, has petitioned Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, over what he described as the unjust formation of the APC Caucus in Fagge Local Government Area.
In a complaint letter dated 28th October, 2026, and received and stamped by the Kano State Government House, Hon. Wakili said the politics of Fagge is divided into three segments: Kwaryar Fagge with five wards namely Fagge A, B, C, D1 and D2, Arewacin Fagge comprising Kwachiri Ward (the second largest ward in Nigeria after Gobirawa Ward), Rijiyar Lemo Ward and Yammata Gabas Ward, and the third segment being Sabon Gari West and East Wards.
He argued that to achieve proper balance, any political platform must at least include two segments - mostly Kwaryar Fagge and Arewacin Fagge - or carry all three segments to avoid a clash of interest.
Wakili complained that all five Caucus leaders recently constituted come from only three wards of Kwaryar Fagge:
- Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata as Jagoran APC Fagge LGA from Fagge B Ward
- Prof. Bashir Yusuf Mataimakin Jagoran APC Fagge LGA from Fagge B Ward
- Hon. Alibaba Agamalafiya, Chairman Caucus Fagge LGA from Fagge D1
- Hon. Sagir Abba Fagge, Deputy Chairman Fagge LGA from Fagge D1
- Hon. Bashir Abdu Muzakkari, Secretary from Fagge D2
He noted that prominent APC members from the three Wards of Arewacin Fagge, which he said constitute more than 60% of voters, were ignored. He listed them to include Hon. Tukur Muhammad of Rijiyar Lemo, a member of Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Salisu Masu of Yammata, Chairman of Fagge Local Government, and Hon. Muhammad Sheyi of Kwachiri Ward, the immediate former Chairman of Fagge LGA.
The aspirant further lamented that while upcoming leaders are being ignored, he himself who once led a political party in the state and contested for the House of Representatives twice - both as a candidate in another party and as an aspirant in the ruling APC - was not included in any party activity.
"If they are truly after your victory, and that of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu they'll have made balance representation for every part to feel a sense of belonging," he wrote.
Hon. Wakili said the reason for writing the letter was for the Governor to kindly correct the wrong done, if there is any room for adjustment.
He added: "As a patriot APC member, I hope Your Excellency will look into this matter with seriousness it deserves."
The letter was copied to the State Party Chairman, Hon. Haruna Umar Danguwa, All Progressives Congress (APC), Kano Branch, and was signed by Hon. Haruna Kabiru Wakili Fagge, 2027 APC Aspirant.
